Greenhouse film provides growers with optimum conditions for plant growth. This includes conditions required for crop production (temperature, light, humidity, water, and air movement) as well as better management conditions for pests and diseases.

How suitable a greenhouse cover type is varies depending on the region where you plan to establish the greenhouse.

Greenhouse covers can be divided into 2 groups.

  • Plastic sheeting
  • Plastic films

Films are the most common and the lowest-cost type of covering material.

Available film types are:

Polyethylene (PE), EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate), and PVC (polyvinyl chloride).

Additives in plastic determine:

  • Durability
  • Capacity to Reduce Heat Loss
  • Capacity to Reduce Droplet Formation
  • Transmission of Light at Specific Wavelengths
  • Capacity to Reduce the Amount of Dust Sticking to the Film.

The additives included in the product we use are:

UV+IR+EVA+AO+AV+DIFFUSION additive package

UV ADDITIVE: Prevents harmful rays from the sun from entering the greenhouse. It is also the additive that determines plastic service life. As the UV ratio increases, plastic life also increases.

IR ADDITIVE: Retains warm air that enters the greenhouse during the day and keeps warm air inside during the night. It minimizes day-night temperature differences. Especially in winter periods, it reduces plant stress. It provides fuel savings.

EVA ADDITIVE: An additive that increases the strength of plastic. It improves plastic resistance against wind and hail.

DIFFUSION ADDITIVE: Ensures that sunlight reaching the greenhouse cover is diffused as it enters the greenhouse. This allows plants to receive sunlight evenly.

AO ADDITIVE: Burning or melting may occur where plastic contacts greenhouse steel. This additive reduces the damage of steel contact on plastic.

AV ADDITIVE: Causes insects entering the greenhouse to experience visual disorientation.
